George Lawson (Bud) Jump, 85, of Severna Park, Maryland, died Thursday, February 26 at his home. Bud was a graduate of McDonogh School in Baltimore County and the University of Maryland. Following his graduation from college, he was commissioned as an officer in the Air Force. He was a CPA and worked for Continental Can, W. R. Grace and Co., and J.S Young and Company before opening his own franchise of Commercial Services, a company dedicated to serving accounting needs of his clients. Later, he became the financial director of Keswick Nursing Home from where he retired. After his retirement from Keswick, he maintained many of his accounting clients for accounting and tax services.
Bud was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 24, 1930, the son of the late Alton S. Jump and Eva Mairs Jump. He had one sister, the late Maybelle J. Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Ruark, and survived by his companion, Eleanor Hunt, his son, Robert Jump and his wife Dee, and his daughter, Karen Guest and her husband, Tom. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dan Jump, Charlie Jump, Ryan Guest, Jim Guest and Lauren Guest.
Bud was an avid bridge player. He enjoyed many close relationships with his friends, and remained very close to his classmates at McDonogh School.
