George Bosmajian, Jr. of Annapolis died on June 22, 2011.
Born April 21, 1921 in Sanger, CA, he was the son of the late George Bosmajian and Mabel White Bosmajian. He attended schools in the Sanger school district and then earned his BA in Chemistry from Fresno State University.

George was employed for two years with Shell Development in the Bay Area until he earned enough money to go back to school. He received his MA from the University of Illinois and a PhD from WSU in Organic Chemistry. He met Shirley in grad school at WSU, and in 1949, they were married. George took a job in the Bay Area of CA and then was offered jobs in the Chicago area and Birmingham, AL before moving to the Annapolis area in 1962 where he was employed with the last named, David Taylor Research Center.

Mr. Bosmajian and his wife lived in Severna Park for 47 years before moving to the Annapolis area. He taught evening classes in the field of Physical Science at Anne Arundel Community College for several years, which he enjoyed. He had also been a very active member of the Severna Park Investment Club since about 1964. In addition, George loved to go fishing in the Magothy River with his sons. He was actively involved in Boy Scouts with his three sons and spent many weekends hiking and camping, as well as, attending all the meetings. He was an active genealogist and among other places, did research at Salt Lake City's Family Library over eight times with his wife. He and Shirley loved traveling and had visited all seven continents and over 80 countries.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Nelson Bosmajian; his three sons, George Bosmajian, III (Patricia) of Pasadena, MD, Peter Jon Bosmajian of Key West, FL and Neil William Bosmajian (Robin) of Hermosa Beach, CA; his three grandchildren, Daniel George, Caroline Joi and Stephanie Alexis Bosmajian. Also surviving are his three siblings, Elizabeth Winters, C. Perry Bosmajian, and Dorothy Krieg, all of CA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 4:30pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the AACC Foundation, 101 College Parkway - Icox House Arnold, MD 21012.
