George "Ted"
Jones
March 30, 1953 – May 11, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ted Jones, a loving husband, father, and friend whose warmth, humor, and hardworking spirit touched everyone who knew him.
Born in Maryland, Ted spent his life embracing the simple things he loved most. He had a passion for farming, fishing, and crabbing and could often be found outdoors, happiest with his hands busy and surrounded by nature. He also loved being on the road and would often joke that he had probably driven a million miles over the years. Known as a true “jack of all trades,” there was very little he couldn’t fix, build, or figure out. Whether helping someone with a project or lending a hand when it was needed most, he was always dependable and hardworking.
He proudly worked for Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks and was also a dedicated member of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Reserve. He took great pride in serving his community.
Ted had many hobbies and interests that reflected his curiosity and creativity. He enjoyed collecting coins, participating in the Antique Outboard Motor Club, and creating beautiful stained glass pieces by hand. He loved staying busy, figuring out how things worked, and passing along his knowledge and skills to others.
He also had a playful spirit and loved pulling pranks, telling jokes, and making people laugh. His sense of humor and ability to brighten a room will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Above all else, he cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam, and his children, Megan and Nick, who will forever hold his love, guidance, and memories close to their hearts.
His legacy of laughter, strength, kindness, and craftsmanship will live on through the many lives he touched.
