George William Imhof, III passed away on June 22, 2022. George was born in New Bethlehem, PA where he attended Red Bank Valley High School. He was a proud Air Force veteran of the Korean War. After returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Joanne Adams. He attended Penn State University and began his career as an electrical engineer. He believed strongly in service to his community. He was a member of the Optimist Club and was a volunteer ambulance driver while living in State College, PA. After moving to Maryland to continue his career he visited nursing homes as part of the Pets on Wheels program. After retiring, he was a volunteer officer with the Department of Natural Resources. George was an active member of Arundel Fish and Game where he taught Hunter's Safety and shot trap He cherished the friends he made there. Upon his retirement he and his wife Joanne travelled the country in their RV along with their dog Marco visiting our country's National Parks as well as family and friends around the country. They also enjoyed traveling with friends. George was preceded in death by his parents George and Gladys Imhof, his brother Roger Imhof, and his sister Dottie Imhof. His wife of 65 years, Beverly Joanne (Adams) Imhof followed him in death just 6 short weeks after his passing.
George is survived by his daughter Linda Imhof Wright (Harry) and his two sons Gregory Imhof (Kari) and Roger Imhof (Beverly). He is also survived by his sister Joan Imhof Lockhart (Richard), his 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
George will be interred along with his wife Joanne at a future date in the Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
