George Joseph Becker, 90, a resident of Arnold since the 1960s, died suddenly of heart failure March 24 at home.

Born March 19, 1916, in Baltimore, where he was reared, Mr. Becker spent summers in Arnold.

Mr. Becker served in the Navy during World War II and retired in 1976 as a machinist at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

He was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Annapolis, where he served on the Altar Guild.

His interests included travel and gardening.

Surviving are numerous cousins.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow and Tuesday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St. in Annapolis. Burial will follow in New Cathedral Cemetery in Baltimore.
