Georganna "Jo" Musson Long, 83, of Gibson Island, MD, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 28, 2018.  She was born October 29, 1934 in Sandusky, OH to Nelson J. Musson and Anna Margaret Link Musson.

Georganna graduated from Stephens College, Columbia, MO with a degree in fashion design, and moved to Boston where she met her soulmate and husband of 56 years, Frederick M. Long.  They spent most of their married lives in Severna Park and Gibson Island, MD, and two years in Belgium. Together they traveled the world with a network of international friends, ultimately visiting all seven continents and sailing all seven seas.

Jo enjoyed socializing, was active in her communities, and was a member of the PEO philanthropic organization.  She had exceptional artistic talents including sewing, crafts, and interior design.  One of her greatest passions was golf, which she played for 70 years and won several club championships, the first while still in her teens.

Jo was a supportive wife and mother, elegant yet unpretentious, a good listener and a great story teller.  She never complained about anything and had an unshakably cheery demeanor.  Jo was the most pleasant person imaginable and was truly loved by all.

Georganna is preceded in death by her parents and husband, and is survived by her son Andrew F. Long and wife Alice C. Long of Dallas, TX, and sister Linda M. Guipe of Pinehurst, NC.

Funeral and interment will be at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT, date TBA.  Anyone interested in attending please contact GLfuneral@flexwebs.com .
