Genevieve Welle

Genevieve Dolores Watkowski Welle, 85, of Severna Park since 1983 and previously of Arbutus, died March 19 at Genesis Eldercare in Severna Park.

Mrs. Welle was born March 12, 1923, in Baltimore. She graduated from The Institute of Notre Dame, Notre Dame College in Baltimore and Catonsville Community College.

She was a homemaker for many years, and was a nurse at Jenkins Memorial Nursing Home.

Mrs. Welle was a member of The Franciscan Society and St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park, where she was very active and attended daily mass, rosary and novena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Enok Conrad Welle, in 1989.

Survivors include four sons, Conrad Gene Welle of Cambridge, Lawrence Adam Welle of Catonsville, Gerard Noel Welle of New Windsor and Stanley Joseph Welle of Severna Park; two daughters, Bernadine Frances Geary and Michelle Marie Countiss, both of Severna Park; one brother, Milton Watkowski of Severna Park; two sisters, Sister Frances Watkowski of Towson and Theresa Curillo-Smith of Severna Park; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, and at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Dundalk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchin Franciscan Mission Office, St. Augustine Monastery, 220 37th St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
