Gary Miller, 84, passed away at Arcadia of Crofton on October 24, 2022. He had lived in Severna Park MD since 1995.
He was born on January 25, 1938 in Ridgeway West Virginia to Feldmon William Miller and Katherine Elizabeth (neé Oliver) Miller. The family later moved to Martinsburg, WV. He graduated from Martinsburg High School.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in February 1961 and served for 27 years until October 1988. His military service took him to 7 states (Kansas, Colorado, California, Illinois, North Carolina, Texas, and South Carolina) and three foreign countries (Pakistan, Greece and Germany). He received a Bachelor of Arts from St. Leo College in St. Leo, Florida and was a graduate of the Realtor Institute of South Carolina.
His Air Force assignments required the management and oversight of Military Dental Clinics. After retirement he graduated from the Realtor Institute of South Carolina and was a licensed Real Estate agent with Prudential in South Carolina. After moving to Maryland he was a licensed agent with Hoffman realty in Crownsville, MD.
He was a member of the Air Force Association and American legion. He was a member of the South Carolina Realtor Association and Maryland Association of Realtors.
Gary loved bowling and enjoyed the competition of bowling tournaments at various military bases in Europe from 1973-1977.
He married Eva Mary Herniak on 14 August 1964. Eva was the daughter of Nicholas and Ellen Herniak.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eva Mary Miller; three sons Christopher Alan Miller of Severna Park, MD, Timothy Andrew Miller (Jennifer) of Acworth, GA, and Joseph Anthony Miller of Los Angeles, CA, three grandchildren Miranda Lanae Miller of Los Angeles CA, Alexander Grant Miller of Pensacola, FL and Anna Grace Miller of Acworth GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Feldmon William and Katherine Elizabeth Miller; by his brothers Marvin William (Bill) Miller of Martinsburg WV, Franklin Delano Miller of Lawton OK, James Russell Miller of Bunker Hill WV, and Feldmon Daniel (Danny) Miler of Inwood WV; and his sister Dallas Elizabeth (Dally) Walker of Bunker Hill WV.
Burial with honors will take place on Monday March 13, 2023 at 1:00pm at Arlington National Cemetery.
