Gail Monroe Hussey passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022 at the age of 82. Gail was born to George W. and Elsie Grace Monroe on October 11, 1939 in Cincinnati Ohio. She was raised in Ohio, attending Milford High School in Milford Ohio and Miami University in Oxford Ohio where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She went on to become an artist for the Gibson Greeting Card Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.

After getting married to W. John Hussey of Mt. Pleasant Ohio, they settled in Upper Marlboro MD in 1971. In Upper Marlboro MD before moving to Arnold MD in 2004, Gail coached boys soccer and mixed swimming on several teams in P.G. County. She was a member of DAR's Anne Arundel Chapter, St. Paul's Moravian Church in Upper Marlboro MD, and Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church, in Annapolis MD. Gail is preceded in death by her parents George W. and Elsie Grace Monroe, as well as her brother George Monroe.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, W. John Hussey of Arnold MD; her sons, John M. Hussey of Stevensville MD and Christopher A. Hussey of Jacksonville, FL; her daughter, Johanna L. Whitescarver of Jensen Beach FL; her eight grandchildren;  Mairin A. Hussey, Lukas M. Hussey, Ethan C. Hussey, Gavin J. Hussey, Brynn H. Hussey, Ryder A. Whitescarver, Rhys W. Whitescarver, Leighton K. Whitescarver, and three step-grandchildren;  Ber E. Wesolowski, Oscar A. Wesolowski, and Jack G. Wesolowski .

A Celebration of Life memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 1-3pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD, 21146. A short service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home.
