Gabriele Link, 66, a German Citizen and permanent resident of Arnold, MD, died peacefully September 29, 2010 at the Mandrin House, Hospice of the Chesapeake in Harwood, MD, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 28, 1944, in Celle, Germany to the late Franz Wierling and Elisabeth Weber. Gabriele was a German language teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Baltimore and was also a teacher and method instructor at the Berlitz Language Center in Odenton, MD, for many years.
Gabriele was an Associate with the School Sisters of Notre Dame and a member of the Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs. She also hosted a German language discussion table on Saturday afternoons in Baltimore for many years. She enjoyed traveling in Europe and America, camping, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay and its environs with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Philip M. Link of Arnold, MD, and two sisters, Monica Schulte-Mattler and Doris Wierling, both in Germany.
She is also survived by two children, a daughter, Cynthia Link, of Wisconsin, and a son, Martien Link, of Pasadena, MD, as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews both here and abroad.

A Celebration Of Life in
Gabriele's honor will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday October 9, 2010 at Saints Stephen & James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 938 Hanover Street, in Baltimore,MD Parking is available across the street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gabriele's honor to the American Cancer Society.
