M. Fredericka Hixon, 94, of Arnold and a longtime resident of Hagerstown, died of natural causes Nov. 16 at FutureCare Chesapeake in Arnold after a five-year illness.

Born Sept. 12, 1910, in Hagerstown, Mrs. Hixon also had lived in Washington, D.C. A homemaker, she was active in the Hagerstown Women's Club.

Among her interests were playing golf and antiques. She enjoyed setting up antique shows in Hagerstown.

She was married to Raymond Z. Hixon, who died in 1986, and was the grandmother of Timothy R. McKnight, who died Dec. 30, 2002.

Surviving are one daughter, Riki McKay of Arnold; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial are private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
