Frederick Joseph Rex, "Fred, Opa, Dad", passed away peacefully, with his wife of 57 years, Mary, by his side on June 26, 2016 at BWMC.
Mr. Rex was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 26, 1935. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a Business Degree in 1957. He married Mary Mann of York, PA on May 9, 1959.
Fred was a successful businessman who owned his own company, KECO, in which he brokered major industrial equipment pieces from Europe for his American customers.
Mr. Rex lived in Severna Park with his family since 1975.
He was a coach and mentor for the Green Hornets Baseball League in Severna Park for many years. Fred loved skiing and teaching his family how to ski in Utah and Colorado. He loved spending time at his second home in California. He was a great golfer and enjoyed travelling, especially to Germany with his family and friends.
Mr. Rex is survived by his loving wife Mary; daughters, Heidi Montgomery of Solvang, California, Mary McNicholas of Baltimore; son, Fred Rex, Jr. of Severna Park; four grandsons; one great granddaughter and many other loving family members that include sons- in-law, Hilton Montgomery and Tom McNicholas; his beloved cousin, Ingrid Hale and family; loving brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held for Mr. Rex at St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park, MD.
A Mass of remembrance will also be held at Mission Santa in Solvang, CA in August 2016.
