Frederick M. Long, "Fritz", was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania to P. Frederick Long and Mary Allgaier Long.
Fred graduated from Allentown High School, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and Harvard Business School. He worked for the Trane Company, Baltimore Aircoil Company, and Baltimore Therapeutic Equipment.
Fred is survived by his wife Georganna M. Long, "Jo", and son Andrew F. Long and Alice Long of Dallas, Texas.
A memorial visitation gathering will be at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park on Thursday, September 5th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. The funeral will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122 and/or The U.S. Coast Guard Academy Class of 1952 Endowment Fund, 47 Mohegan Ave, New London, CT 06320-8111.
