Retired USAF Capt. Frank Joseph Wojcicki, 91, died of congestive heart failure on December 21, 2008 at St. Agnes Hospital. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, December 27th from 9:00am -10 am at Charlestown Community's Our Lady of the Angels Chapel in Catonsville, 713 Maiden Choice Lane. Services will be held following the visitation at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with private burial in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Mr. Wojcicki had been a resident of Charlestown Retirement Community since 1999. He lived in Severna Park for 35 years and also resided part-time in Stuart, Florida.

Mr. Wojcicki was born October 2, 1917 in Bayonne, NJ. He graduated from Montclair State Teachers College in 1950 with an A.B. in Secondary Education. He also had post-graduate study at Temple University with a major in Economics. Before he went to college he had a long and varied military career. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Signal Corps and graduated from Signal Corp Radar School. He was a Radar Officer and instructor in the Army Air Force School of Applied Tactics. He also completed Ranger Training School and Parachute School earning his wings as a paratrooper. Mr. Wojcicki continued to serve in the reserves as a Captain in USAF.

He worked at Westinghouse as a Senior Engineering Writer and Manager for Technical Manuals in the Aerospace Division from 1955 until he retired in 1982. He was the Managing Editor for Westinghouse's "Logistics Direction" magazine from its initial issue. He was employed from 1950 to 1955 by Philco Corp. as a Technical Writer and from 1940 to 1949 by Western Electric as an Electrical Tester.

Mr. Wojcicki was fluent in both the Polish and Russian languages and a member of SOLE, The International Society of Logistics. He enjoyed writing, golf and held an Amateur Radio License for many years. He and his wife loved to travel and made many trips to Poland and Lithuania to visit and help extended family. One of his favorite trips was to England on the QEII to celebrate their 55th anniversary in Paris on Bastille Day. Frank helped establish the first library in Severna Park at the former Railroad station, coached Little League, and was active in the PTA, West Severna Park Community Association and Severna Park Follies.

He was married for 57 years to Johanna A. Wojcicki before her death in 2004. He was predeceased by his daughter and son, Fran Bauer and Frank M. Wojcicki. He is survived by one sister, Helen Kulnis of Whiting, New Jersey. He was the brother of the late Walter Wojcicki and Veronica Vachitis. He is survived by his three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Andrew T. Bauer of Severna Park, Kristen Bauer Zaks of Winston-Salem N.C., and Gregory T. Bauer of Reston, VA. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Liz Wojcicki of Annapolis and his son-in-law, Dr. Valentine Bauer of Arnold.
