Frank Michael Babula, 92, of Sykesville, Md., died of natural causes April 20 at the Fairhaven Health Center.

Mr. Babula was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1939, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. He earned a master of science degree from Clarkson College in 1974.

He worked initially as a naval equipment inspector for mine safety appliances in Pittsburgh and later for radar equipment in Rochester, N.Y. In 1946, after the war, he worked for Bendix and later became an electrical engineer for the Western Electric Company, where he worked from 1959 until his retirement in 1984.

As a young man, he enjoyed working with radios and often made repairs on radios and televisions. He also had a great interest in hi-fi stereo. During his retirement, he actively followed developments in business and financial markets.

In 1940, he married Aniela "Nellie" Jasenska, who later died in 2004. Surviving are three children, Patricia Pierce of Lovettsville, Va., Carol Roush of Millersville and Stephen Babula of Carrollton, Texas; one sister, Stella Atwood of Greenville, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at the Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will follow at noon. Burial is private. An additional memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Fairhaven Chapel, 7200 Third Ave. in Sykesville, Md.
