Francis Stromberg, 78, of Severna Park, died at Baltimore Washington Medical Center on February 15, 2012.
Francis was born to his parents, Joseph and Else Stromberg on October 14, 1933. He attended St. Joseph's Monastery School, where he was an altar boy from grades 4-8. He graduated from Baltimore Poly Tech, served four year in the Air Force and when he returned from the Air Force, he went to Johns Hopkins University. He received his degree in Civil Engineering.
Mr. Stromberg was employed as a Section Chief for the State Highway Administration for over 25 years, and then worked in Greenhorn and O'Mara, Consulting Engineering Firm, prior to full retirement. He enjoyed sports, listening to classical music, reading, traveling and crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marie Beatrice; his step children, Nicholas Visciani and Catherine Soldan; grand daughters, Jordan Visciani, Jenna Visciani, Nicole Horton; and his sister, Mary Stromberg Jacobs.
Friends may visit on Thursday February 23rd from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 24th at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146.
