January 25, 1946 – January 14, 2008
Francis John Doyle Jr., 61, a 32-year resident of Arnold, died of complications from lung cancer Jan. 14 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Doyle was born Jan. 25, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Ruth and Francis John Doyle Sr. He attended West Catholic High School and St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia, and also attended Anne Arundel Community College.
He worked as an outside salesman for U.S. Steel Co., retiring after 25 years.
Mr. Doyle served in the Army with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 304.
He enjoyed reading, studying history, fishing, crabbing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of over 38 years, Mary E. Doyle; four sons, Michael Doyle of Pasadena, Brian Doyle of Centreville, Keith Doyle of Arnold and Kevin Doyle of Annapolis; one daughter, Meggan Bridgeman of Annapolis; two sisters, Maureen O'Connor of Virginia Beach, Va., and Diane Hill of Philadelphia; and 12 grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
