Francis "Mac" C. McLaughlin, USN, Ret, 92, a longtime resident of Arnold, died peacefully at his home on March 6, 2014.
Mac was born to his parents, Clifford and Margaret McLaughlin on December 17, 1921 in Portland, Maine, and spent his early childhood in Hollis Center, Maine. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II, as well as, in the Merchant Marines. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1950 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mac was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Arnold Senior Center, and the Moose Lodge in Glen Burnie. He enjoyed sailing, gardening, reading, woodworking, and dancing.
Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his wife, Mary McLaughlin; his children, Deborah J. Price of Davidsonville, David McLaughlin of Montana, James McLaughlin of Arnold, Richard McLaughlin of Annapolis, Catherine Grobani of Annapolis, Thomas McLaughlin of Liverpool, NY and Rev. John McLaughlin of North Carolina; his sister, Elizabeth Donnelly of Massachusetts; his half brothers, Thomas Atkins and Robert Atkins of Maine; as well as, twelve grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert McLaughlin.

Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Annapolis, MD.
