Frances L. Dutrow, 78, of Severna Park, died of renal failure Dec. 5 at her home after a brief illness.

Born Nov. 16, 1927, in Baltimore, Mrs. Dutrow attended St. Gregory's School and Seton High School in Baltimore. She moved to Arnold in 1957 and worked for Davison Chemical Division of W.R. Grace Co. for 12 years.

She participated in the musical shows at Severna Park in the early 1960s. Proceeds from those shows helped to build the athletic field at Severna Park High School.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Dutrow Ranke of Severna Park and Michele Bowers of Cape May, N.J.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Edward C. "Pete" Dutrow, died in December 1998.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where the funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
