Floyd M. Smigielski, 78, of Cape St. Claire, died of heart failure March 1 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air in Harford County.
Born May 21, 1928, in Chicago, Mr. Smigielski was reared in Tamaroe, Ill., and was a former resident of Baltimore. He retired in 1991 from the former Westinghouse Corp. where he worked as an electrician.
During World War II he served in the Army. His interests included bowling, playing the guitar, singing and traveling in his recreational vehicle.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth D. Smigielski; one daughter, Arleen Gleason of Davidsonville; two sons, Joseph Smigielski of Edgewood in Harford County and Edgar Smigielski of Kent Island; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was the father of the late William Smigielski.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
