Florence E. Gins Diffenderfer, 97, a resident of Severna Park, MD died May 21, 2009 at home, due to natural causes.

She was born on August 17, 1911 in Philadelphia, PA.

Mrs. Diffenderfer was a member of Severna Park Order Eastern Star # 117.
She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and quilting and she loved bowling and reading.

She was preceded in death by her late first husband, Alfred Gins, who died in 1954, her late former husband, Ralph Edward Diffenderfer, who died in 1979, her late sons, Edward Robert Gins, who died in 1993 and Richard J. Gins, who died in August 2008.

She is survived by her daughter, Siretta Carol Riley of Edgewater, MD, seven grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Highway in Severna Park.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10 AM at the Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146.
Interment will follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
