Evelyn Gnau, 98, a resident of Mayo, died on January 12, 2012 at her home.
She was born on July 26, 1913 in Baltimore, where she was raised, graduating from Western High School. She previously lived in Granite, Milford Mill, Catonsville, and in the Arnold area for 25 years.
Evelyn was a homemaker and volunteered at the Springfield Hospital in Eldersburg and the Lutheran Mission Society in Annapolis. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed many crafts, especially crewelwork.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Harry Gnau and her late son, Alan Gnau.
She was survived by her daughter by adoption, Constance Schrom of Mayo, MD and four nephews, Bruce Kammer of Middle River, John Kammer of Gettysburg, Sean Kammer of Cockeysville, and Arthur Green (Judy) of Arnold.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, January 16, 2012 from 9:30 am -11:00 am at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
