Eugenia M. "Jean" Daugherty, 91, of Severna Park, died of natural causes Feb. 15 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.

Mrs. Daughterty was born on June 6, 1915, in Brooklyn and was the daughter of the late J. Frederick and Harriet V. Morris Huber. She graduated from Southern High School and was married in September 1938 to William E. Daughterty. She lived in Brooklyn until 1948 when she and her husband moved to Severna Park.

She was the first woman to be employed by the Arundel Federal Savings and Loan Association of Brooklyn from which she retired.

Mrs. Daughterty was a longtime member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, where she worked as church secretary, taught Sunday school and delivered Meals on Wheels. She also was one of the organizers of the annual Christmas bazaar.

In addition to her husband of 68 years, she is survived by a daughter, Susan Cahill, and sister, Emily Rusinek, both of Severna Park; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to www.barrancofuneralhome.com.
