Ethelyn S. Mechesney, 93, of Severna Park, died May 14 at her home.
Born March 4, 1912, in Pittsburgh, Mrs. Mechesney graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., in 1933. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and kept up an active membership for 75 years.
She belonged to book clubs and a bridge group and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
She also volunteered for more than 25 years as a clerk at the Clothes Box, operated by the Anne Arundel Medical Center Auxiliary.
She was a 45-year-member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park..
Survivors include four daughters, Charlotte M. Simmons of Wilmington, Del., Lynn Bollinger of Kent, Wash., Susan Hellwege of Chestertown, and Mary Burt of Fairfax, Va; one son, William A. Mechesney Jr. of Coral Springs, Fla; 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was the widow of William A. Mechesney.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, 21146.
