Eric David Coates of Catonsville, Maryland died on July 24, 2025 at the age of 48. He is survived by his mother, Susan Collier, his sister Brandi Coates, and his aunt Celine Wachter.

Eric attended Lansdowne High School and Catonsville Community College. Throughout his schooling, he participated in baseball, soccer, and golf. Eric was an avid collegiate and professional sports fan.

He proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Guam and the Naval Academy in Annapolis.

Eric loved vacationing in Ocean City and enjoyed the outdoors. He often rode his bike throughout Catonsville. He worked at the Ships Café in Catonsville where he enjoyed meeting, greeting, and serving customers.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday August 10th, 2025 from 12:00 - 1:30pm at Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park MD, 21146, with a service to follow at 1:30pm. Following the service, there will be a reception at the Severna Parks Elks Lodge, 16 Truckhouse Road, Severna Park MD, 21146. Interment will be private.
