Emily Pfautz

Emily H. Pfautz, 95, a resident of Severna Park for 21 years, died of complications of pneumonia June 16 at Future Care-Chesapeake in Arnold after a brief illness.

Mrs. Pfautz was born March 27, 1909, and raised in Lebanon, Pa., where she graduated from Lebanon High School. She previously resided in Allentown, Pa., and Columbia.

She was the assistant dean of admissions of Cedar Crest College in Allentown.

Her interests included traveling, especially to Europe, as well as playing bridge and gardening. Her memberships included Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park.

The widow of Charles Van Vleck Pfautz Sr., she is survived by two sons, Charles Van Vleck Pfautz Jr. and David H. Pfautz, both of Venice, Fla.; one sister, Ethel Phillips of Cornwall, Pa.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Ann Kettering and Mable Wolfe.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church at 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, MD 21146.
