Snowden, Elmer W. Jr., age 88, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland to Ella May and Elmer W. Snowden Sr. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.
Elmer and Madge were married in 1941 at St. Mary's Star of the Sea. They had been married for 68 years.
Elmer worked as a mechanic for DuPont Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Madge, of 68 years; his daughter, Patricia J. Pollock and her husband William; two grandsons, William G. Pollock Jr. and Patrick Pollock Sr.; four great-grandchildren, Christy Lee, Corey Lance, William III and Patrick E. Jr.; one great-great-grandson, Rylan Pollock; many nieces and nephews; three brothers, Kenneth, Milton and Richard; and four sisters, Emily, Ruth, Nelliem and Charlotte.
