Ellen Anne Hatch Pochet passed away on Saturday June 17th, 2023. She was 77 years old.

Ellen was born to George Henry Hatch and Genevieve L. (nee Boughan) Hatch on February 6, 1946 in Boston Massachusetts. She was raised in Newton and Acton Massachusetts where she attended Rose Hawthorne School and Acton-Boxborough High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst). She became employed with the National Security Agency as an analyst, and lived in Ankara, Turkey and College Park, Maryland before settling in Arnold, Maryland. She married Robert Louis Pochet on September 21, 1968 and they were blessed with four daughters.

Ellen was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Pi Beta Phi Sorority and P.E.O. International. Her hobbies and interests include gourmet and bridge group, Mah Jong, cross stitching, quilting, cheering on her grandchildren, volunteering at the Clothes Box, and traveling. She was an avid Terps and Orioles fan.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Louis Pochet, of Arnold, MD; her daughters Jennifer Flickinger of McLean, VA, Stephanie Poltrack (Michael) of Annandale, NJ, Meredith Mitchell (Paul) of Annapolis, MD, and Courtney Schweickart (David) of Richmond, VA; and her eleven grandchildren, Gage, Katy and Maddy Poltrack; Emma, Colin and Ryan Flickinger; Olivia, Cameron and Addison Mitchell; Griffin and Flynn Schweickart. Ellen's grandchildren request that you help celebrate her life by wearing bright colors to her mass.

Friends and family may visit on Wednesday June 21st from 5-7:30pm at Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park MD, 21146.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 10:30am in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be private.
