Ellen Marie Gatton( nee Smith), 84, a resident of Severna Park, died on October 3, 2012 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.
She was born on June 11, 1928 in Richwood, West Virginia and came to Arnold, MD (Pines on the Severn) in the mid 1950's. During the late 1950's, she met and married John Thomas Gatton and has lived in Severna Park ever since.
Ellen was a homemaker and was active with the Ladies of the Elks # 2482 in Severna Park, MD. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan. She enjoyed watching the old westerns and television game shows. Ellen thoroughly enjoyed eating crabs and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Gatton, whom died in 2005.
She is survived by her three sons, John Parks of Severna Park, Thomas Gatton of Preston, MD, and Charles Gatton of Arnold; five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
