Elizabeth Gaffney Osborne passed away quietly on August 28 in the loving care of family following a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Liz was born March 13, 1935 in Washington D.C., the daughter of Jack and Beatrice Gaffney. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1953. In 1997 Liz retired after 25 years of service to St. John the Evangelist School as a teacher and administrative assistant. For almost 3 years Elizabeth lived at Somerford Place, considered as her "extended family"; a residence specializing in Alzheimer's care.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, James, two daughters, Mary Pat Bozel and Kathleen Kolbe; one sister, Mary Marcus, and seven grandchildren. Liz was an exceptionally kind and gentle woman, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She will be missed dearly. A Memorial Mass will be held at St John the Evangelist, Catholic Church, Saturday, September 2nd, 10:00 am. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at Chartwell Country Club immediately following the Memorial Mass.

Liz is survived by her two daughters, Mary Pat Bozel and Katie Kolbe, seven grandchildren, Blaine, Taylor, Maddison, and Chase Bozel, and Megan, Grace, and Abigail Kolbe and by her sister, Mary Marcus. Liz was an exceptionally kind and gentle woman, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She will be missed dearly.
