Elizabeth Green Massicot, 81, of Severna Park, MD died of cancer at Tate Hospice House in Linthicum on March 2, 2009.
She was born Elizabeth Green on October 10, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to her parents, Lewis and Nell Green. She was raised in Philadelphia and also lived in Newark, DE prior to moving to Severna Park, where she has been a resident for over thirty five years.
Mrs. Massicot attended Anne Arundel Community College and graduated from the University of Maryland University College as a straight A student, earning her bachelor's degree in accounting. She worked as an office manager for Maryland Petroleum Association and then served as an administrator for Anne Arundel County Planning and Zoning.
Mrs. Massicot enjoyed volunteering at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was a longtime member of the choir and served as a deacon at the church. She also loved traveling with her husband and spending time with her children and family. She was an animal lover, adopting every animal that wandered into the backyard.
Mrs. Massicott is survived by her husband, Paul O. Massicot, whom she married in 1972; her son, Robert E. Payne of Washington, D.C.; her daughters, Susan E. Payne of Baltimore, MD and Jacqueline A. Adams of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lewis Green.
A committal service will be held at Loudon Park Cemetery on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 9:30 am. A memorial service will be offered at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7 at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Severna Park.
