Elizabeth R. Fronc (nee: Roth), a longtime resident of Maryland, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on July 2, 2016 at the age of 94.
Born in 1921 in Grabill, IN she was next to youngest of six. She graduated from Leo High School and at 17 years moved to Washington, D.C. to "work for the War effort". She married Henry C. Fronc, who predeceased her in 2000 after 48 years of marriage. She raised three children, Henry, Jr., Elizabeth A. and Daniel.
After raising her children and seeing them through professional school, Elizabeth pursued a lifelong goal. She entered college, then Nursing School, earning her R.N. at 69 years of age! She returned to the workforce for a number of years, until leaving to care for her husband in his decline.
She loved sports, especially her Senators, Orioles, and college basketball. She enjoyed eating out with friends and family, especially crab cakes and a good pint or a mint mojito. She was the kindest, most selfless and giving soul, who loved her family above all else. She was mother to three, a second mother to two, Grammie B to four, and enveloped countless others in her love. The sparkle in her eyes lit up the room, and like her loved ones, survive her.
In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible gifts may be made to: Montgomery College Foundation, 40 West Gude Drive Suite 220 Rockville, MD 20850. Please include "Elizabeth Fronc Scholarship" on the memo line.
