Elizabeth "Lilly" Carter, 84 of Anne Arundel County, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2019 with her family by her side.

Lilly was one of ten children born in Liverpool, England to John and Frances Perry. She is survived by Margo, Jimmy and Tony.   Lilly was married for 47 years to her loving husband, the late Lewis Carter.  She is survived by her five children; Maria Deans (Gordon), Patricia Murphy (Timothy), Beth Cochran (Clinton), Michael Carter (Sinnet), Stephen Carter and eleven grandchildren.

A devoted mother and grandmother, her greatest joy came from her family. She was never happier than when they were all together celebrating holidays and family events. She thrived on the camaraderie and antics of a large family. She had a quick wit, fantastic sense of humor and competitive streak.  Crosswords were her passion and "Words with Friends" brought her into the 21st century. She was a  senior who embraced technology.  Lilly was a lively conversationalist who had many friends, was an active listener and compassionate toward all.

She was actively involved with the community and church as an avid volunteer at Providence Center, Partners In Care and a life long member of the British Belles.   Employed by Anne Arundel County Department of Health - Vision & Hearing, she transitioned to Oakhill Elementary where she was a health aide for fifteen years.  In 1970 she proudly became an American Citizen.

The family is eternally grateful for her unconditional love and will miss her greatly.
