Eleanor Allenbaugh Moen, 87, of Arnold, passed away peacefully at Gilchrist Center Howard County on March 23, 2026 after suffering a stroke. Born on July 1, 1938, in Baltimore, Eleanor lived a life defined by devotion to her family and her church.
Eleanor was the beloved daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Allenbaugh. She grew up in Baltimore and attended high school at the Institute of Notre Dame, where she formed lifelong friendships and strong values that guided her throughout her life. She earned her Associates Degree from Anne Arundel Community College.
An employee with perfect attendance, Eleanor worked for the State of Maryland for many years. First in the Payroll section for the Office of the Comptroller and then as a Systems Analyst for the Maryland Judiciary. She loved working for the State of Maryland and made many lifelong friends.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Laurie Miller (Bruce); her son, Robert (Bob) Fields (Jennifer); and her cherished granddaughters, Erin Taylor (Ian) and Molly Norfolk. Eleanor was a loving great-grandmother of 2 great-grandsons, Noah and Caden Taylor. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Rew; and her brother, Michael Allenbaugh. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Anthony Moen; her daughter, Julie Norfolk and her daughter, Ellen Fields; her brother, William Allenbaugh; and her grandson, James Bramble III. Eleanor’s greatest joy was her family!
Eleanor's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family and friends may visit on Monday March 30, 2026 from 2:00pm-4:00pm & 6:00pm-8:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care,P.A. 495 Ritchie hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday March 31, 2026 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church 689 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146.
