What's not to love about a woman who loved her children and grandchildren almost as much as she loved her Ravens, Orioles, Maryland Basketball, beer, bourbon and of course "The Golden Girls".

Ellie was born January 24, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland. She married Phillip Loechel in 1948. They had two children, Mark and Patricia and lived a wonderful life in Howard County, Maryland. After retirement, Phil and Ellie moved to the Eastern Shore to live out retirement in Ocean Pines.

A few years after Phil passed, Ellie moved from the beach to Brightview Senior Living in Severna Park, Maryland. She enjoyed the company of many new friends, played bridge and attended daily happy hours in the bar. Ellie became known as "the bourbon lady", a title she wore proudly. In the summer of 2020 she fell and fractured her thoracic spine, leading to an inability to work unassisted. She passed away December 5, 2020, peacefully in her sleep.

Ellie leaves behind a daughter, Patricia Loechel-Fortier and her husband Paul Fortier; daughter-in-law Christine Loechel; two grandchildren, Hilary Loechel Patty and her husband Matthew Patty and Alexander Loechel.

Ellie was preceded in death by her husband Phillip and her son Mark Loechel, who passed away in 2017.
