Elaine Ann Barnhart, 73, a 43-year resident of Cape St. Claire, Annapolis, Md., passed away on Jan. 29, 2016, from natural causes. The daughter of Gorman and Mary (Drapeau) Bonville, Elaine was born on Apr. 24, 1942, in Sharron, Conn. She graduated from Webutuck High School in 1960, and the Mildred Ellie Business School in 1962. Throughout the years she worked in various banking positions including teller and head teller.

Arriving in Annapolis in 1972, she work at the former Annapolis Bank and Trust Company as a Head Teller. After leaving the bank, she was involved in many community activities: volunteer at the former Cape Co-Op Preschool, parent coordinator of the Cape Saint Claire Youth Sailing Program, a former member of the Cape Saint Claire Yatch Club and Garden Club.

She reentered the workforce, retiring in Dec. 2014 after 20 plus years serving as the Administrator for the Cape St. Claire Improvement Association.

Elaine was an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling and gardening. Her visual sense of color and flower arrangements earned her the community "Yard of the Month" on various occasions.

Preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Mary, Elaine is survived by Eugene Barnhart, her husband of 53 years; son Scott (Dana) Barnhart of Cape St. Claire; grandson Logan Barnhart; sister Carol(Steve) O'Donnell of Monroeville, Pa.; Edward(Jean) Bonville, of Bar Harbor, Me.; and sister-in-law, Deborah(Mark) Clark of Fergusson, N. C.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February, 6 at 2pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A., Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Contributions may be made to St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway, Annapolis, Md. 21409, and to the Seraphic Mass Association, Capuchin Mission, 3600 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
