Eileen Estelle Hester, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Severna Park on July 16, 2026.

She was born on April 11, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Edward Lohrmann and Annie Wilkes. Eileen attended Pasadena Elementary School and Glen Burnie High School before beginning a successful career as a colorist and seminar teacher for Renard Color Company. She also proudly owned and operated Pour House Ceramics for 38 years, where she shared her love of ceramics and creativity with the community. Eileen was also a longtime member of Anchor Baptist Church.

Eileen most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, crocheting, sewing, teaching ceramics, fishing, and working on sudoku puzzles. Her many interests reflected her creativity and the enjoyment she found in sharing them with others.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Carl" Hester; her daughter, Barbara A. Ratliff; her son-in-law, Darrell Ratliff; and her daughter-in-law, Donna Hester.

She is survived by her children, James L. Hester, of South Carolina; Michael C. Hester of Severna Park, MD; Patricia L. Hester (James L. Manning) of Crownsville, MD; and Joseph Hester of Irving, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146.

A funeral service will he held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 12pm in Anchor Baptist Church, 320 W Pasadena Rd, Millersville, MD 21108.

Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie, MD.
