Effie Moore Millard, 89, a resident of Millersville, MD died on March 14, 2011 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.

She was born on July 20, 1921 in Greenville, NC, where she was raised, and previously lived in Washington, DC and the Bladensburg area.

Mrs. Millard worked as a cashier for Grand Union Supermarket in Prince George's Plaza.

She was a longtime member of the Central Baptist Church in Bladensburg, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 15 years at Pascal Center on Dorsey Road, and a volunteer for Crofton Convalescent Center.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, shopping, and watching Bonanza on television.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Millard III and a daughter, Judith Millard Stewart.

Survivors include two sons, Howard Millard, Jr. of Millersville and John Michael Millard of Columbia; one daughter, Nikki Therese Clementson of Edgewater; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 1:00 pm at the little church located within Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722, with burial to follow. Arrangements made by Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home.
