Effie Tom Federline, 86, of Arnold, MD, died on January 4, 2010 at her home due to complications of Alzheimers.
She was born on September 10, 1923 to her parents, Thomas Grant Rice and Althea Aura Briggs Rice in Flag Pond, TN and raised in Erwin, TN and graduated from Unicoi High School, then she married George F. Federline, Jr. on July 31, 1946, prior to moving to Baltimore.
Mrs. Federline was employed as a payroll clerk with the War Department. She later worked with her husband in their family business, Federline Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning. Effie was a member of the Ladies of the Elks #2482 and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, gardening and visiting her relatives in Tennessee.
Mrs. Federline is survived by her two daughters, Carol Dreszer and husband, George and Sandra Mills and husband, Sam, as well as, her grandchildren, Nathan Dreszer, Emily Dreszer, and Scott Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Federline, Jr. who died on November 8, 1994; her parents, Althea and Thomas Grant Rice; and her siblings, Decky Rice, Leola Jennings, John Calvin Rice, Tony Rice, Hestel Rice, and Clella Lehardy.
Friends may visit at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Friday, January 8, 2010 from 11:00am-12noon. Funeral services will be held at noon with the interment following at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie, MD.
