Edwin John Sadowski Sr., 80, of Annapolis, died of heart failure May 16 at Heritage Harbour Health after a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 19, 1924, in Baltimore, and raised in Locust Point, South Baltimore, Mr. Sadowski served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945 aboard the USS Iowa.

He was the owner and operator of Cape Cleaners.

He was a member of Davy Jones Locker, receiving seven ribbons, and of American Legion Post 175, and was a charter member of Elks Lodge 2608. He also was a member of the Cape St. Claire Volunteer Fire Department, which inducted him into its Hall of Fame.

On Oct. 3, 1952, he was married to Berkley Elizabeth Krauss.

Also surviving are one daughter, Berkley Lorraine Sadowski of Annapolis; one son, Edwin J. Sadowski Jr. of Chester; five siblings, Bill Sadowski and Elizabeth Borland of Arizona, Delores Reichenberger of Locust Point and Leon and Charles Sadowski of Towson; and two grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Cecelia Curran and Lorretta Wilhelm.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial will be private.
