Edward F. Weyand, 76 of Severna Park, MD died of a stroke Friday, July 06, 2007 at the University of MD Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He was born in Binghamton, NY and was the son of the late Paul and Claire Weyand of Binghamton. He was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School and Union College of Schnectady, NY where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and was a member of the Delta Phi Fraternity. He also did graduate work at Temple University and the University of Delaware.

Before moving to MD, he worked as a chemist for the DuPont Company and was a member of the American Chemical Society. In MD he worked as an accountant for the Federal Government at Westinghouse Corp. in Linthicum, MD. He retired from the State Treasurer's Office in Annapolis, MD. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1954-1956.

He was a coach and umpire for Wilmington, DE Little League Baseball and was also an avid tennis player, playing in many tournaments. He was a longtime member of the Hollywood-On-The-Severn Improvement Association and Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville, MD.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Juanita Brown, son James Weyand of Millersville, MD, daughter Catherine Martini of Sunman, Indiana, sister Katherine Kimball of Port Charlotte, FL, and 6 grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville, MD on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
