Edward Frederick Rawlinson Sr., 87, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026.
Born on January 18, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ed was the son of Edward S. Rawlinson and Nelva Marie (née Ramsay) Rawlinson. He grew up in the Manhattan Beach community and South Baltimore. He graduated from Southern High School in 1957 and joined the USMC after graduation.
On June 27, 1958, Ed married the love of his life, Judith A. (née Watts) Rawlinson. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and community. They spent 20 years raising their family in Arnold before settling in Cambridge, Maryland, where they have lived for the past 30 years.
Ed dedicated his career to public service as a firefighter and paramedic with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Through his work, he touched countless lives with his courage, compassion, and commitment to helping others. Ed was a member of the Masonic Lodge #213.
In his free time, Ed found great joy in fishing and crabbing along the Chesapeake Bay, woodworking projects, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to him, and he cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved.
He is survived by his sons, Edward Rawlinson Jr. (Brenda) of Severna Park, Maryland, and Ronald Rawlinson of Arnold, Maryland; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Judith Rawlinson; his sisters, Nelva and Lillian; and his brother, Robert Rawlinson.
