Edward Louis Kohrn, 82, a longtime resident of Severna Park, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2010 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.
Edward was born on May 30, 1928 in New York City. He attended school in New York and at age 18, he joined the United States Army and served in Korea. He attained the rank of sergeant in the army and received several medals for his service. Upon returning home, he began a long successful career as a businessman, and ultimately running his own business for more than 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Laura Kohrn; and his brother, Sidney Kohrn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sally A. Kohrn; sons, Stefan Kohrn of Richmond, VA, Dr. Bruce Kohrn of Baltimore; step daughter, Pamela Gaydos of Pasadena; stepsons, Eric Beers of St. Pete FL and Scott Beers of Pasadena; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Edward loved working on his computer, playing golf, and spending time with his family. Edward touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity throughout his life.
The family will receive visitors during the Memorial Visitation on Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 5-7pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. 21146.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 18th at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. A Chapel Service and interment will follow at the Maryland Veteran's Cemetery in Crownsville at 1:45 pm.
The family requests to those who would prefer to make a donation, in lieu of flowers, that the donation be sent to the American Heart Association.
