IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward John
Henne
November 24, 1943 – October 20, 2020
Edward Henne passed away on October 20th, at the age of 76.
Ed was born on November 24,1943 to Helen(Svitak) and Edward Henne. He spent his childhood years in Brooklyn Park, graduating from Brooklyn Park High School in 1961. Following high school, he attended Anne Arundel Community College and University of Maryland. He worked 30 years for A&P/Super Fresh at various locations, primarily as a produce manager.
Ed married the love of his life, Joyce, on October 15th, 1966. They spent the next 54 years making a beautiful life together.
Over the years, they lived in Glen Burnie, Pasadena, and Centreville, with Ed being remembered by many along the way due to his witty personality, love of pranks and kindness. He spent his last 3 years at Arcadia Assisted Living in Chester where his devoted wife visited with him daily. His family is extremely grateful to the caregivers at Arcadia for the exceptional care they have provided these last few years.
Ed had many talents and hobbies. He played the trumpet for both the University of Maryland and Baltimore Colt Marching Bands in the late 60's. Following retirement he enjoyed woodworking, designing and making many pieces of furniture for his family. One of the most cherished pieces is the family cradle in which all 4 grandsons and many great nieces and nephews have slept in.
His greatest passion was fishing, however over the years he also enjoyed hunting, crabbing, scuba diving, enduro dirt bike racing, playing volleyball, cooking and reading.
Ed was active in the United Methodist Church for many years. He served on the UMC men's committee, enjoyed cooking for church breakfast, volunteered at the church homeless shelter and participated in service projects both locally and in Applachia.
The thing that brought him the most joy and happiness in life was his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Joyce(Hartless) Henne, daughters, Michele Fluck and her husband Warren, Julie Reese and her husband Rick, grandsons, Tyler Koch, Nolan Koch, Connor Reese, and Kellen Reese, and brother and sister in law, John and Joyce Henne.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Helen Henne, and a special aunt Marie(Henne)Konecny.
