Edith K. Thommen, 79, of Millersville, MD died at Sunrise Assisted Living in Severna Park on September 24, 2008 due to lung cancer after a brief illness.

Mrs. Thommen was born on January 30, 1929 in Baltimore, MD where she was also raised. She graduated from Southern High School in 1948. Additionally, Mrs. Thommen lived in Landover, MD and in Arnold, MD from 1972-1987, before moving to Millersville.
She worked as a supervisor for the C & P Telephone Company for 25 years before her retirement.

Mrs. Thommen enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards and other games with friends, spending time with family, swimming, traveling and eating crabs.

Survivors include her two sons, Bruce Thommen and Thomas Thommen both of Millersville, MD; her daughter, Barbara Graham of Lusby, MD; her brother, Keith Metzler of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A memorial mass will be offered at Our Lady of the Fields Church in Millersville, MD on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 10:00 AM.
