Edith Iona Hays, 94, of Severna Park, died Aug. 14 at her home.

Mrs. Hays was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Baltimore.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was an Baltimore Oriole baseball fan. Her interests included gardening and needlepoint.

She was the widow of Howard M. Hays; mother of the late Peggy Thomas; and sister of the late Bertrum Wollett, Eugene Yingling, Ruth Kreig and Elizabeth Rausch.

Surviving are six daughters, Barbara Lamb of Baton Rouge, La., Betty Mollman of Davidsonville, Beverly Lyberger of Gambrills, Dianne Kuper of Timonium, Diana Williams of Morattico, Va., and Linda Stark of Annapolis; one son, Howard "Marty" Hays Jr. of West Friendship; one sister, Dorothy Jones of Frederick; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will be held at noon Saturday. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
