Ed Sherman, 79, a 32 year resident of Arnold, MD, died of heart failure on December 21, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on February 01, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Washington, DC.
Mr. Sherman attended University of Maryland for two years and owned Sherman Cleaners on Georgia Avenue in Washington, DC from 1953-1956. He worked in the industrial chemical industry, working as a salesman for Stadham Corporation of Maryland and then W.P. Ballard Company, from which he retired. Upon retirement, he worked for Viking Boat Supply in Annapolis for approximately 15 years.
He was in the U.S. Coast Guard and a member of American Legion Post 175.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife, Carla J. Sherman of Arnold and two sisters, Susan Sherman Davis and Marian Sherman, both of Ocala, FL.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 3-7 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 26 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville, MD.
