Earl Dean Hicks, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at home.
Earl was born on August 24, 1929 in Cookeville, Tennessee to Clay and Una Hicks. He was raised in Cookeville but later moved to Richmond, Virginia and also spent time in Huntington, West Virginia.
Earl earned a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Tennessee Technical University. He went on to become the accounting director at Chessie Systems and CSX Railroads. Earl also served as a Sergeant in the United States Army and was a proud Korean War Veteran.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elsa D. Hicks. He was a cherished brother to his sisters, Marie Keith and Helen Jones (late). He was a caring father to his children, Denise Hicks Wolff (Joshua) and Earl Dean Hicks Jr. (Lisa). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Jorie Wolff, Alyssa Wolff, Eric Hicks, and Michael Hicks.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 12:00pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
