Earl George Douglas, 80, a resident of Grasonville for 12 years, died of heart failure Oct. 10 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a five-month illness.
Born on Oct. 9, 1927, and reared in Baltimore, Mr. Douglas served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from the former B&O Railroad after 27 years. He also founded his own business, Doug's Welding Inc., in 1959.
His hobbies included boating, fishing and racing.
Surviving are his wife, Joan M. Douglas; one daughter, Donna Douglas of New York, N.Y.; two sons, Mark Douglas of Annapolis and Steven Douglas of Grasonville; and one grandson.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
