Earl W. Bohlman, 88, died January 13, 2015 with his family by his side.

Born August 29, 1926 to John and Marie Bohlman, he was raised in Baltimore City, MD. He attended the public elementary school and Baltimore Poly Technic High School. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy, aboard a submarine repair ship, the USS Sperry, where he served as an electrician's mate. He was stationed in the South Pacific during WWII.

In 1947 he married his childhood sweetheart Mary "Mazie" McCoy, which led to a happy 67 year marriage. They had four sons, Gary, Randall, Craig, and the late Dr. Mark Bohlman. He also had eight grandsons, one granddaughter and two step grandchildren, as well as one great granddaughter and two great grandsons.

After his discharge from the U.S. Navy, he graduated from the Bliss Electrical Engineering School in Tacoma Park, MD. He worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in the Special Electrical Apprentice Program. He trained for supervision and earned a promotion to Material Inspector with their Research Department. He later earned a promotion to the Construction and Engineering Department. He retired after 40 years as the Superintendent of Electrical Construction and Maintenance. In 1972, he founded the Earl W. Bohlman & Sons electrical contracting company, now run by his two sons, Randy and Craig.

Earl was a member of the Masonic Lodge Corinthian #93, the Scottish Rite, and the Boumi Temple. He belonged to the American Legion, the Fleet Reserve Club (of Annapolis, MD), the Severna Park Elks Club, and the Forked Creek Yacht Club. Lastly, he was a member of the RABO Club for Retired Administrators of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.

Earl began his married life on Rosedale St. in Baltimore City and moved to Essex Rd. in Baltimore County, where his four boys were raised. In 1976, he moved to Truckhouse Rd. in Severna Park, MD, where he resided the remainder of his life.

Earl's hobbies included boating, fishing, gardening, and following the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. He spent many hours at the Forked Creek Yacht Club enjoying his boat and fellowship with the other yacht club members.

Earl was a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a member of the Wednesday morning Work Crew for many years.
The most important thing in Earl's life was his beautiful wife Mazie and taking care of his great family, all of who were all present at a great Christmas celebration and at his untimely death.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 11AM at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road, in Severna Park. Private interment in Our Shepherd Memorial Gardens.
